FIVE FACTS FROM THE SOURCE (Embedded): EX: The article cites Maria Nikolajeva, a professor of at Cambridge, as saying that Bella does not "in any way promote independent thinking or personal development" in women, instead portraying a woman "meek and willing to do anything for her vampire boyfriend" (POV). |
The article says that "raising children is the greatest responsibility we are given" and it is one of "the hardest things we do in life"(POV). |
Teen parenting is harder then being a normal parent because "you are not an adult yourself" however you are still trying to be the adult (POV). |
Although people might think differently "Teens moms have to deal with so many problems that older mothers do not have to contend with"(POV). |
People begin to believe negative thoughts about a teen mom, not only will "others doubt your parenting" but they also assume that you "slept around"(POV). |
Most fathers bail out of the picture and some mothers stay with their families which can be a "good source of support" but also "be a source of frustration" (POV). |
Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):
POV wrote an article that is very straight forward and blunt. It talks about the negative thoughts that people will have towards you and the struggles that a teen mother has over a regular adult mother. There is no fluff or extra information in the article it truly is "plain and simple" like the title says.
Credibility of Source:
Author or Site: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the site. What is the purpose of the site? Who funds the site?

The site is published and supported by ValJon Enterprises, however when i tried to do further research on the enterprise there was no information so i could not tell if it was credible. Also it is written in POV so you can not judge the credibility.
Attachment: Does the author or site have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative? For example, is it a cigarette business posting an article about the benefit of cigarettes, or is it a scientific community unaffiliated with the cigarette business?

The author has nothing to gain, and the enterprise has to clear connection with teen parenting in anyway.
Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?

I did not detect any bias.
References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?

Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?
Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?
I will use this source because their outlook on how people view teen mothers strikes me as something people need to know.
